Wow, 2020 has been a crazy year, to say the least. I am super thankful for all of my friends and experiences I’ve had the last few months, and I can’t wait to show all of my favorite memories with you all.
Before I go into depth about my semester, I want to take a moment and remind everyone how important mental health is. Take time for yourself. Recognize your needs.
I went to therapy for a few months during my sophomore year of college, but I started going again in May. I also started taking anxiety meds in the fall of this year. I truly believe one of my passions is to remove the stigma of taking medications & normalize talking about mental health, one conversation at a time. If you’re looking for someone that advocates for mental health & body positivity, follow Mik Zazon. She is truly an inspiration for so many people, and I even had her come speak to Chi O this semester!
Over the summer, I had a 6-week internship at Target. I was a Store Executive Intern, and I rotated between the different work centers of Specialty Sales, General Merchandise, Logistics, and Service & Engagement. I loved all the people I met at Target, especially my mentors and my peers! I learned a lot about leadership and the importance of communication and empathy, especially during this pandemic. I also met a lot of new friends (hi, abby!!)
During the summer & quarantine, my roommates and I decided to pick up a new hobby– TENNIS! Tennis was such a fun way for us to get out of our apartment, and a great way to get our body moving!
Over the summer, I also had so much fun hanging out with my roommates! Also, my sister graduated & started her freshman year @ DePaul.
Over the semester, I created such great memories. I also accepted a full-time job, and I will be moving to Cleveland, Ohio after graduation in May! So many life steps this semester.
