MIAMI WEEK IN MY LIFE
Hello friends! Last week, my roommates and I went to Miami, and honestly, it was SO nice to be able to get out of the cold Ohio weather and get some sunshine. I wanted to give a few recommendations of the great places we went to and show you some of my best friends & memories I’ll remember forever!
TUESDAY
On Tuesday we got there mid-morning, so Holly and I went to relax by the pool while our other roommates were still getting in from the airport. We grabbed lunch at our hotel cafe and just relaxed until dinner time.
Mister 01 is NECESSITY when you are in Miami. It is a very small hole-in-the-wall place, but the food was so good and delicious. It was even on Gwyneth Paltrow’s blog, Goop as a must-see restaurant in Miami.
WEDNESDAY
We woke up and went to this really trendy coffee shop nearby, Joe & The Juice. This place was POPPIN but a great place to get your morning pick-me-up.
We spent the rest of the day at the pool & the beach, and I spent a ton of time reading from my Kindle.
I read Maybe You Should Talk To Someone over this break, and honestly I think this has become my favorite book. This book is about a therapist who goes to therapy, and honestly, as someone who goes to therapy consistently, it gave a lot of good insight into her feelings and made me feel validated on my own.
One of my favorite quotes from the book:
” Relationships in life don’t really end, even if you never see the person again. Every person you’ve been close to lives on somewhere inside you.”
For dinner on Wednesday, we went to this authentic Cuban restaurant called Moreno’s. The food & drinks were DELICIOUS! I had the Havana Bowl, which was white rice, olive oil, and sauteed eggplant, mushrooms, carrots, peppers, onions, and sweet plantains.
THURSDAY:
Since classes are online this semester I had an online class which I took in the hotel’s cafe where I also had breakfast!
For dinner, we went to Oh! Mexico. One thing you need to get here– the guac. Truly one of the best guacs I’ve ever had.
FRIDAY:
On our last day here, we went out for breakfast at The Social Club.
For dinner, we went to one of my personal favorites of the trip, not even necessarily for the food (which was exceptional), but for the service itself. The servers and staff at Orilla were truly some of the best I had in Miami. It was one of my roommate’s birthdays as well, so they gave us a free dessert and a glass of champagne as well!
Later that night we went to visit some of our other friends who were in Florida as well!
I hope you enjoyed some of these recommendations and this week in my life during vacation!
best wishes, be well and thrive, cam
